After correcting for multiple testing, nine variants were significantly associated with food allergy confirmed by oral challenge in young children of the GOFA study [15], including one variant located in a locus not previously reported in food allergy GWAS: rs8056255 near CYLD. As such, this variant represents a putative novel risk factor for food allergy, which should be studied in greater detail in future studies. The gene discussed is CYLD; the disease is food allergy.
