In that GWAS, nine of the 76 sentinel variants were significantly associated with food allergy after correcting for multiple testing (P<0.05/76 = 0.00065; S13 Table), namely those in/near FLG (four variants), KIF3A, LRRC32, RAD50, CYLD, and SERPINB7. Overall, there was a very close agreement in SNP associations between the age-of-onset and food allergy analyses (S12 Fig); for example, for 66 of 76 variants the allele associated with a lower age-of-onset onset was associated with a higher disease risk (binomial test P = 2x10-12). This evidence concerns the gene RAD50 and food allergy.
