CCL20 is known to act as a chemoattractant for CCR6 expression bone marrow-derived cells, and to recruit inflammatory cells, e.g. dendritic cells and regulatory T cells to sites of cancer.28,29 CCL20 could therefore in principle affect tumour growth through effects on bone marrow-derived immune cells rather than through angiogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene CCR6 and neoplasm.
