Although Zhang et al. (44) concluded that METTL3 is highly expressed in NPC, they detected the METTL3 expression in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data set incorrectly, and used quantitative RT-PCR technology to prove that METTL3 mRNA was highly expressed in NPC cell lines. Here, METTL3 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
