Since GATA6 inhibited tumor formation by inducing cell-cycle arrest and senescence, we manually checked expression level of genes that were reported to be involved in regulation of cell cycle and found that CDKN1A (encoding p21), a potent cell-cycle inhibitor and senescence inducer, was upregulated (Figure 3C and Supplementary Figure 3A).
