The Hepatoma Arterial-Embolization Prognostic (HAP) score, Assessment for Retreatment with TACE (ART) score, and selection for TACE treatment (STATE) score are prognostic scores derived from combinations of tumor diameter, radiological response, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level, and liver biochemistry (bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase [AST], and C-reactive protein) to better stratify and select patients for the initiation of or subsequent TACE15–18. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
