IL-6 levels did not differ significantly between healthy controls (0.63 pg/mL; IQR 0.32–1.06) and ischemic stroke patients, when estimated either within 8 h of symptom onset (0.87 pg/mL; IQR 0.40–2.17) or at 72 h (0.57 pg/mL; IQR 0.43–1.65) (Kruskal–Wallis test: chi square = 2.30, p = 0.32) (Figure 3).
