The main findings of the present study are as follows: (1) β-ARs are expressed and might be tumour targets in human LPS and LMS; (2) the immunohistochemical expression of β-ARs in specimens of angiosarcoma patients might predict the response to propranolol in combination with docetaxel-based chemotherapy; and (3) the short-term culture of patient-derived SFT cells expressing β-ARs displayed sensitivity to propranolol in combination with docetaxel, which was reflected in the patient clinical outcome. This evidence concerns the gene CTBP1 and neoplasm.
