INS and polycystic ovary syndrome: Additionally, the women with PCOS exhibited higher fasting insulin levels (5.71 mIU/L vs. 1.20 mIU/L, P < 0.01) and post-load glucose levels (101 mg/dL vs. 94 mg/dL, P < 0.01) and insulin levels (43.7 mIU/L vs. 16.6 mIU/L, P < 0.01) as well as lower insulin sensitivity index (ISI) than the controls (0.081 vs. 0.107, P < 0.01).
