Circulating factor X (encoded by F10) was associated with a higher risk of any stroke (OR 1.13 95%CI, 1.05,1.21), which is keeping with the use of direct-acting anticoagulant drugs that inhibit factor X (e.g. apixaban) to prevent stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF)29.
