The study provides the first evidence that +936 C>T VEGFA and c.233C>T bFGF polymorphisms may influence the risk of B-CLL, since the results show that both are closely related to protective phenotype, and increased overall and disease free survival prediction, which could be applied as novel biomarkers to identify individuals at high risk of the disease. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
