And our results showed that the expression of METTL14 in PBMCs from SLE patients positively correlated with ALKBH5, YTHDF2, and the expression of ALKBH5 in PBMCs from SLE patients positively correlated with YTHDF2. Thus, previous studies and this study manifested the collaboration among writers (METTL14)–erasers (ALKBH5)–readers (YTHDF2) sets up the m6A threshold and perturbs that m6A threshold, leading to uncontrolled expression/activity of virulence gene, resulting in the occurrence and development of disease (Panneerdos et al., 2018). Here, ALKBH5 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
