According to the Interleukin-6 Receptor Mendelian Randomisation Consortium, IL6R has been considered a target for coronary heart disease: “IL6R blockade could provide a novel therapeutic approach to prevention of coronary heart disease.” Nowadays, monoclonal antibodies against IL6R, such as tocilizumab, have been considered as a therapeutic strategy for prevention of coronary heart disease (Carroll, 2018).
