RNASE7 and infection: In vitro studies have demonstrated that the treatment of primary keratinocytes with proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-17A, TNF-α, IL-1β, and IFN-γ or their infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococccus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Corynebacterium amycolatum, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecium or the dermatophyte Trichophyton rubrum induced RNase 7 expression (reviewed in Becknell and Spencer, 2016; Rademacher et al., 2019).
