CYP1B1 and neoplasm: 5-HETE and 15-HETE, in particular have been shown to induce cell growth and proliferation in vitro in various tumor-derived cell lines (O'Flaherty et al., 2005; O'Flaherty et al., 2013; Cabral et al., 2013; Ma et al., 2013), implying a function for these compounds, and thus CYP1B1, in prostate tumor growth and proliferation.
