TNNI3 and COVID-19: In a retrospective analysis by Chen et al. [20] including 150 COVID-19 patients admitted to Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in 22 cases (14.7%) the cTnI value was elevated (>26.3 ng/L); moreover, myocardial injury was present in 62.5% of patients in critical conditions and it seemed to be an independent risk factor (OR = 26.909, 95% CI 4.086 to 177.226, p = 0.001) for COVID-19 critical illness patients at multivariate analysis [20].
