AML cells are characterized by altered expression of nucleotide receptors [20,21,22] and CD39 (ecto-nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 1 [E-NTPDase1]) and CD73 (ecto-5′-nucleotidase) ectonucleotidases [23], compared to normal cells. The gene discussed is NT5E; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
