A few mechanisms of this miRNA in oncogenic events have been proposed, including epithelial-mesenchymal transition by targeting phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), angiogenesis and metastasis in liver and lung; [26–28] or by promoting tumor cell migration through regulating metalloproteinase inhibitor 3 (TIMP-3) transcription and promoting migration in cervical cancer [29]. This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and cervical cancer.
