In a similar model, we could show that the consumption of Lactobacillus casei ATCC393 impaired tumour growth [112] and promoted Th1 immune responses, with an apparent increase in IFN-γ and IL-12 systemically, and in tumour infiltrating CD8+ locally, on account of the accumulation of chemokines, and in particular the ligands of receptors CCR5 (CCL3, CCL4, CCL5) and CXCR3 (CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL11) in the tumour tissue. This evidence concerns the gene CCL4 and neoplasm.
