CCL5 and neoplasm: In a similar model, we could show that the consumption of Lactobacillus casei ATCC393 impaired tumour growth [112] and promoted Th1 immune responses, with an apparent increase in IFN-γ and IL-12 systemically, and in tumour infiltrating CD8+ locally, on account of the accumulation of chemokines, and in particular the ligands of receptors CCR5 (CCL3, CCL4, CCL5) and CXCR3 (CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL11) in the tumour tissue.
