STK4 and cancer: More intuitive is the targeting of genes which can be considered as tumor suppressors, such as HOXD10, which has been demonstrated to negatively regulate neoplasm metastasis by downregulating the expression of MMP2 and MMP9 [80], TP63, since its loss of expression is causative of increased progression and metastasis in vivo [81], RECK, which is an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase [82], the well-known Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 1B (CDKN1B) [83] and serine/threonine-protein kinase 4 (STK4), which has been identified as a tumor suppressor in many cancer types [84].
