Previous studies have shown that synphilin-1 can interact with multiple proteins (e.g., alpha-synuclein) and is involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) in relation to protein aggregation [3,4,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14], suggesting a putative role of synphilin-1 in PD. This evidence concerns the gene SNCAIP and Parkinson disease.
