Some of the studies reported that the functional polymorphism of TLR7 rs179008, Gln11Leu was associated with HIV acquisition [10], higher viral loads and accelerated progression to advanced immune suppression in HIV patients [6], hepatitis C infection [11], basal cell carcinoma (BCC) [12], female HCV patients, and spontaneous clearance of HCV [13]. Here, TLR7 is linked to hepatitis C virus infection.
