According to the results, TLR4, TLR7, and TLR8 are all involved in stroke, in which TLR4 and TLR8 have detrimental roles in ischemic stroke [62, 63], while the activation of TLR7 can induce robust neuroprotection against stroke by triggering a novel type I interferon-mediated mechanism [64].
