Among the patients with sepsis, the percentage of all the lymphocytes that were CD3+ CD161+ lymphocytes was lower in patients who died (n = 9, median 3%, 95% confidence interval 1–7%) versus in survivors (n = 23, median 9%, 95% confidence interval 7–17%) (Mann U Whitney test, p = 0.008) (Figure 5E).
