This assumption is supported by a recent study from Li et al. [51], who evaluated irisin effect on a chondrosarcoma cell line and demonstrated that the myokine reversed the decrease of type II collagen and the increase of MMP-13 following IL-1 pretreatment and was associated with a downregulation of both Wnt/β-catenin and NFκB pathways. This evidence concerns the gene FNDC5 and chondrosarcoma.
