The virus infection‐related genes negatively correlated with ACE2 expression in intestine, breast, and ovary include the APOBEC RNA (often viral RNA) editing enzymes, and most prominently many ZNF (shockingly all are KRAB‐ZNF containing the transcriptionally repressive KRAB domain) transcription factors, which often directly binds to endogenous retrovirus sequences (Table S2). Here, ACE2 is linked to viral infectious disease.
