Although by directly binding and consuming ACE2, the ACE2 protein expression is expected to decrease by SARS‐CoV infection as reported (Kuba et al., 2005), it is puzzling why virus infection by those that do not use ACE2 as receptor, such HSV1, HIV or HPV show any positive or negative correlation with ACE2 expression. The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is viral infectious disease.
