Currently, recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA), a glycoprotein which enhances the destruction of blood clots, has been widely used for thromboembolism48,49.The carotid arterial thrombosis model was induced by the FeCl3 method50 on the right carotid artery and verified by ultrasonography and Haematoxylin and Eosin staining (Fig. 4a inset and Supplementary Fig. 50). The gene discussed is PLAT; the disease is carotid artery thrombosis.
