ACE2, located also on the cell surface of cardiac systems, may help to understand those patients infected by SARS-CoV-2 that presented cardiovascular symptoms (myocardial injury, cardiac chest pain, fulminant heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and cardiac death), in addition to the typical respiratory symptoms during COVID-19 (Long et al. 2020) (Fig. 4). The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is COVID-19.
