Neri et al. [29] reported that the levels of oxidative damage markers (malondialdehyde, 4-hydroxynonenal, myeloperoxidase) were higher in patients with tinnitus than in controls, whereas GSH peroxidase, an antioxidant enzyme, had lower activity in patients with tinnitus, sharing a similar pathogenesis with cataract.
