VVL-induced changes in ventricular and aortic arch morphogenesis are associated with changes in the expression of shear-stress responsive genes [206,207,208,209], including high shear stress responsive Kruppel-like factor-2 (KLF-2) and Nitric Oxide Synthase-3 (NOS-3) and lower shear stress responsive Endothelin-1 (ET-1), which have been shown to be associated with CHD [209,210].
