Continued HF/S feeding appeared to have little impact in the hypothalamus, with males demonstrating significantly lower expression of genes related to food intake and energy expenditure (AgRP and BDNF) compared to the OBC group, whereas females demonstrated significantly higher expression of genes related to obesity status and inflammation (NPY and ILβ) compared to the OBC group, which supports previous observations [12,13]. Here, BDNF is linked to obesity disorder.
