Despite the possible neurotoxic effects of synthetic cannabinoids, (6aR,10aR)-6,6,9-trimethyl-3-(2-methylpentan-2-yl)-6a,7,10,10a-tetrahydrobenzo[c]chromene (JWH-133), a potent agonist of CB2, showed to be neuroprotective in a MPTP model of PD. This evidence concerns the gene CNR2 and Parkinson disease.
