Compared to the non-recurrent group, the breast cancer recurrent group tended to have lower proportions of women who had an above-college education, were in menopause, had a positive ER or PR status, and were on tamoxifen; they also tended to have higher proportions of women on chemotherapy and higher clinical stage (stage II and stage IIIa). The gene discussed is ESR1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
