To further explore whether acute hyperglycemia was responsible for the expression alternation of miR-9, miR-29a and ISL1, reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was performed to determine the expression of miR-9, miR-29a and ISL1 immediately after DM model development using injection of streptozotocin.
