Dabigatran, a novel oral thrombin inhibitor for clinical anticoagulation, was shown to exert anti‐inflammatory and anti‐fibrotic effects in a mouse model of bleomycin‐induced pulmonary fibrosis,14 and dabigatran also impaired thrombin‐induced cell proliferation, α‐SMA expression and organization, and production of collagen and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in lung fibroblasts.15 Here, CCN2 is linked to pulmonary fibrosis.
