The results showed that in A549 and A427 cells, iron chelation reduced p-Akt (S473) levels (Figs. 1h and S2A), but in Rh30, RD (rhabdomyosarcoma), and HT29 (colon cancer) cells, iron chelation increased p-Akt (S473) levels (Figs. 1h and S2B, C). The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
