TRF2 is regulated by the Wnt/β-catenin pathway [25], is relevant in oncogenesis of CRC [26–28], and is over-expressed in several human malignancies [29–32], included CRC, in which levels of TRF2 have been found to increase during the progression from normal mucosa to focal adenocarcinomas [24].
