Studies have shown that miR-7 expression is up-regulated in the plasma and the frontal lobe of brain in patients with Schizophrenia; Moreover, the effect of miR-7 on Schizophrenia might be linked to directly target SH3 and Multiple Ankyrin Repeat 3 Domains (SHANK3) which is closely related to synaptic plasticity and memory [64–66].
