HK2, the first enzyme in the glycolytic pathway catalyzing the reaction in which glucose is phosphorylated into glucose‐6‐phosphate, has been identified overexpressed in numerous tumors, such as laryngeal carcinoma (Chen, Zhang, Li, Tang, & Kong, 2014) and breast cancer (Marini et al., 2013). This evidence concerns the gene HK2 and breast carcinoma.
