During infection, the proportion of CD69+ cells increased in the semen of SIV+ animals for both the Tcm (Mann-Whitney test, p = 0.002) and Tem (p = 0.0001) subsets (Figure 3B), whereas it was higher in the blood for only Tem cells (Mann-Whitney test, p = 0.0061, Figure 3C). This evidence concerns the gene CD69 and infection.
