Recently, two different cohorts of newly diagnosed NSCLC patients have reported that only 8% to 18% of patients had complete tissue genotyping for all guideline-recommended biomarkers [3,24], with almost 20% not tested for EGFR mutations or ALK fusions, 40% untested for ROS1 fusions, and more than 75% untested for the BRAF V600E mutation [3,24]. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
