It has been shown that miR-424, a hypoxia-induced HIF-1α direct target miRNA, has an ability to stabilize HIF-1α and thus reduces the anti-cancer drug sensitivity through the inhibition of apoptotic cell death in lung cancer cells [15], raising a possibility that HIF-1α/miR-424 axis might participate in the regulation of CDDP sensitivity in bladder cancer.
