IL1B and mood disorder: The majority of available findings reported elevated levels of pro-inflammatory molecules in subjects affected by mood disorders, including pro-inflammatory cytokines (i.e., IL-4, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6), soluble receptors of IL-2 and TNF-α type 1 (sIL-2R and sTNFR1, respectively), and reactive protein C (CRP) [47,48,49,50,51,80], indicating innate immune system dysfunctions.
