DPP4 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Studies investigating the impact of glucose‐lowering therapies to treat NAFLD are often challenging to interpret due to confounding factors that include the use of additional medications (e.g. insulin, thiazolidinediones [TZDs], glucagon‐like peptide‐1 [GLP‐1] analogues, or dipeptidyl peptidase 4 [DPP‐4] inhibitors) and changes in weight alongside improvements in glycemic control in patients with T2D.
