It has been reported that PD-L1 expression by tumor cells can inhibit the anti-tumor activities of CAR-T cells targeting tumor-specific antigens (TSAs) [45], so we hypothesized that elimination of PD-L1 expressing tumor cells by CARPD-L1z T or dPD1z T cells will show synergistic activities with traditional CAR-T cells targeting TSAs.
