We further looked in genes associated with these probes, we found gene CELSR1 for which has been associated to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease disk among women19; the other gene, ETV5 is member of the oncogenic subfamily of ETS transcription factors20; the final gene, ECEL1P2 has been associated with differential methylation levels in smokers even after quitting and lung cancer risk21,22. This evidence concerns the gene ECEL1P2 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
