Indeed, many ERα-regulated genes in ovarian cancer cells have been reported, such as regulators of the cell cycle (CCNB1), apoptosis (TNFSF7, TRAP1, UBL1, and CASP4), transcription (FOSL1, TFAP4, EIF2B1), signaling (NOTCH4, IGFBP3, BENE, LCN2, GRSF1), and modulators of cytoskeleton and extracellular matrix remodeling (CTSD, CDH6, CYR61, KRTs 4, 7, and 13, VIM, TGFBI, DES, AKAP12, TRAM1, MMPs 11 and 17, PLAU) that could be involved in invasion and metastasis [78]. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and ovarian carcinoma.
