PPI analysis revealed that some genes have a highly significant association with the different types of asthma; these include: PER2, SLAMF7, SOD2, BCL3, TLL1, SIGLEC8, and NAV2 for moderate asthma (Figure 4A), SLCO1B3, DNAJC1, WNK4, TPO, TMEM74B, TGM7, and PLAC4 for severe asthma (Figure 4C), and WNK4, SLCO1B3, KCNN4, CPXM1, SYT13, KRT73, SEMA3E, CD2AP, IL20RB, and NAT8B for moderate-to-severe asthma (Figure 4F). This evidence concerns the gene WNK4 and asthma.
