In general, the SD animals subjected to catecholamine stress (isoprenaline) showed some characteristics of Takotsubo-like cardiomyopathy, including a mild degree of apical akinesis/dyskinesis, edema of cardiomyocytes, increased NT-proBNP level and mild lung edema (Figures 2 and 8, Table 3). The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is cardiomyopathy.
