Magnetic bead sorting of CD19+ and CD4+ cells demonstrated that the relative gene expression of the IL-35 subunits (i.e., p35, and EBI3) in CD19+ cells of patients with active sarcoidosis was significantly higher when compared to stable sarcoidosis patients and healthy controls, however the relative gene expression of p35 and EBI3 in CD4+ T cells of patients with active sarcoidosis was not significantly different when compared to stable sarcoidosis patients and healthy controls. Here, CD19 is linked to sarcoidosis.
