MTOR and pulmonary hypertension: The role of autophagy in hypoxia induced PH has been reviewed and has been ascribed to two aspects (Wang K. et al., 2019; Zhang et al., 2019) autophagy promotes development of hypoxia‐induced PH by activating proliferation and migration of pulmonary artery smooth cells during the early stage of PH (Zhang et al., 2014) and upregulation of mTOR partly reverses pulmonary hypertension under hypoxia (Li et al., 2015), and autophagy has a protective effect on hypoxia induced PH.
